The Beast:
The first time Chevy Volt will really take the veil off of its wheels is a good whole week later, and we already have got a slight look at the car. The Chevy Volt has had much hype built around it both with its involvement in Transformers 2 and with so many spy shots making their way out. The initial look though is anything but impressive. There is little revolutionary about the design and while the aerodynamics are world class, it still lacks the ‘It’ factor. The car does have the LED fog lights, the fairly new design and a few other novel design elements.
The Machine:
It is by now pretty well known that the Volt will be a green car powered by an all electric engine. A further look at the car will reveal more details in a week’s time. But the design on the outside seems solid and carefully done. There is nothing extravagant about it and it seems GM has played it very safe this time around. The Volt obviously relies on its immense popularity and its ‘green car’ tag to sell it big in the US.
The Thrill:
While the anticipation has been real high, I think the better part of the thrill has been watered down with the design. The Volt will still de very well and will be a dream ride for all those who are both eco-conscious and love the solid design offered by GM. For now, one could have used a few more pics of the car without the GM creators holding on to their baby like a new-born.
